Fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and city in the distance. Impressive entrance hall with a sweeping staircase and unique artwork by Gustav Klimt. The spa facilities were great and the gardens were well maintained.
The hotel is in need of significant investment, with peeling paint, dirty furniture, and worn-out decor. The service was poor, with long waits for drinks and lack of attention from the waiting staff.

Location within 3 km of lyme park. Oakridge Restaurant served dishes within 100 meters off the hotel. We loved our stay, and we strongly recommend the property. Lovely base for a trip in Cheadle.

Lovely grounds and views . Very comfortable bed.
In need of a refurbishment. Room was dated and bathroom especially was old and in need of a facelift. Could have been cleaner- a few cobwebs . Reception staff on arrival were flustered and did not take an imprint of our credit card. This caused us problems later in the bar as we could not charge drinks etc to our room. Corridor areas were messy and scruffy. Trays from breakfast still on floors outside rooms that night. Pictures propped up against walls on floors- Should be told on arrival that you will be charged for newspapers ..

We had a fantastic weekend getaway at Shrigley Hall! The staff at reception were incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring that our room was ready as soon as possible. Despite the ongoing refurbishment, our room was beautiful and well-maintained. The highlight of our stay was the spa day - the treatments were absolutely amazing and the facilities were top-notch. We also enjoyed a delicious three-course meal with minimal waiting times. The views from the hotel were breathtaking and added to the overall experience. We can't wait to visit again in the future!

An excellent hotel. Ideal for a short quiet country break but in easy reach of large shops by car.
Had to wait a long time to be served on the second day in the restaurant. The staff were apparently in training and it appeared that we got forgotten about and other tables were served ahead of us having arrived after us. The steam room in the spa was out of use.

the Wedding facilities were good
There was another party going on until the early hours of the morning and the volume of the music was horrendous. In addition the windows were nailed shut so we were unable to get any fresh air into the room. Finally there was a power cut in the morning so we were unable even to make a cup of tea and the staff didnt offer any form of compensation.

I recently stayed at Shrigley Hall for a weekend getaway. The hotel is undergoing renovations, but my room had already been completed and it was lovely. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and I even had a mid-afternoon snooze that lasted 2 hours! The room had all the facilities I needed, including an iron and ironing board, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were amazing - friendly, helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. They truly made my stay special. The hotel is situated in picturesque surroundings with stunning views over the Cheshire plains. it was a memorable stay thanks to the fantastic staff and comfortable room.
I can recommend this hotel.

The room was a good size and the breakfast was excellent, especially the sausages!
The room was a bit shabby in places. There was a plastic shower curtain that was awful and clung to you whilst in the shower, the shower head was a bit dirty and there was only one small shower gel for 2 people.

I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The view over the surrounding countryside was fantastic.
I and several other guests at the event I was attending found the signage at the roadside entrance to be inadequate. I actually missed the entrance completely during the middle of the afternoon.

The Barcelo Shrigley Hall Hotel is located in a very picturesque location, not too far from Manchester, and is ideal for golfers. The hotels grounds and golf course are superb. The food served in the hotel restaurant is of a very high standard and the hotel spa is very good and certainly worth a visit.
We visited at the weekend and the hotel was busy, which was nice but the staff were possibly less attentive (particularly in the restaurant) because of the number of guests.
